SH 40 MILLION TO BE USED IN LIGHTING LAMU STREETS

Rehabilitation of the Lamu World Heritage Site, that will see 100 streetlights put up at the seafront, has started.
The Sh40 million project is aimed at sprucing up the town’s image to attract investors and tourists.
Lamu County Governor Issa Timamy, who initiated the project, said 100 streetlights will be installed from Lamu County Hospital to Wiyoni area.
He said the project will also involve renovating the island's main road.
