Students
at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology are getting ready to
elect their leaders to the 12th Students Governing Council (SGC),
come March 7, 2014.
The
MMUSO election campaign is taking shape as candidates look forward to a grand
debate on Monday. The debate which will be held at the Main catering unit (MCU),
will give the candidates a common platform to sell their manifestos and an
opportunity for students to ask them questions.
According
to the deputy dean of students, Dr Lelei, The elections will be free and fair.
He has assured that officers manning the polling station will be vigilant
enough, giving no opportunities for any malpractice that may mire the elections
as it has been in the past years.
Eligible
candidates in the race must have passed their previous exams, cleared fees,
collected 1000 votes for those vying for executive positions 2500 signatures
for other posts and they should also have a good discipline record.
