Nairobi Kenya 7, March 7, 2014-The
Industrial Court has quashed the letter of dismissal for former Judiciary Chief
Registrar Gladys Shollei.
Justice Nduma Nderi ruled that the
Judicial Service Commission (JSC) violated her rights and ordered that she be
compensated for wrongful removal from office.
Mrs Shollei was sacked in October
last year on allegations allegations of abuse of and misappropriation of Sh2
billion Judiciary funds and has since been replaced by Anne Atieno Amadi.
She moved to court challenging her
dismissal on grounds that it was unconstitutional since JSC had no power to
send her home.
She sought a declaration that her
rights were violated and compensation for wrongful dismissal.
