The five –month "ayayayaaa kidero you have slapped me" feud between Nairobi Governor Dr Evans Kidero and Nairobi
Women Representative Ms Rachael Shebesh is finally over. The politicians ended
their public shame, thanks to the intervention of the head of the Anglican
Church in Kenya, Archbishop Eliud Wabukala.
The two politicians approached the prelate separately after attempts to
resolve the dispute,a local publication reports.
Dr Kidero was accused of slapping Ms Shebesh on September 6 last year, were
scuttled by third parties seeking to cash in on the fallout.
Dr Wabukala told the publication on Sunday that they sat late into the night
on at least four occasions in a bid to strike a deal.
Speaking shortly after, Ms Shebesh declared at a press briefing in Mwiki
that she has forgiven Dr Kidero; the Archbishop asked Kenyans to embrace the
two leaders.
“I want to thank her for that bold step. We are immensely grateful for the
two leaders because it was not easy at all getting them to agree on this. The
reconciliation talks could sometimes go up to very late in the night,” he said.
